Isfahan-Shiraz Freeway
Isfahan-Shiraz Freeway of nearly 225 kilometers in length was established in 2010 with the aim of completing the North to South freeway corridor in the form of an agreement between Ministry of Roads and City Planning and Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support for construction and operation of Isfahan-Shiraz Freeway.
The above mentioned freeway between two historical and tourist cities of Isfahan and Shiraz from Isfahan’s Izadkhast to the city of Shiraz is of two separate lanes with 584 bridges (total of 4052 meters) and 2 galleries (total of 1372 meters) where the 5 proposed tunnels have been omitted in the performed value engineering. This freeway decreases the distance between Isfahan – Izadkhati to the city of Shiraz by 122 kilometers compared to the present distance. Unique landscapes like Tang Baragh, Behesht Gomashode, Doroodzan Dam Lake and Mollasadra resorts have given it special charm. To this end, increased travel safety and decreased travel time of 2 hours, significant reduction in fuel consumption, reduced traffic accidents and increased speed are among the most important reasons for construction of this freeway.
Partnership period of this national project is about 18 years including 4 years project implementation period and 14 years operation period and the cost of project including installations and other costs is estimated to be more than 28500 billion Rials.
The partnership contract for the above mentioned project has been concluded in the B.O.T method and 50% of the required capital to execute the project will be provided by partnership of Iran Construction and Civil Company, Pars Gostar, Basijian Reserve Fund, Moli-al-Movahedin Financial and Credit Institute and Cooperative fund of Islamic Republic of Iran Defense Ministry (IRIDM) as well as the construction of impure side facilities such as tourist and road service areas, gas stations, repair shops, restaurants, billboards and exclusive fiber-optic platform provides a virtual potential for this company.
